Fishmas Opening fishing weekend

Opening day of fishing season is the last Saturday in April. Locally known as “Fishmas”, it’s anticipated as eagerly as Christmas is, but by adults. Come fish our West Walker River on our new 30 acre land with river access.

The West Walker River Derby is sponsored by the communities of Walker, Coleville, and Topaz and the northern mono chamber of commerce. The derby runs for the entire month of July. There is no entry fee. Bring your fish into the Walker General Store, and your catch will be weighed and recorded.
